Eliminate Hip Pain Without Medications, Injections, Or Surgery
Don’t sacrifice the active lifestyle you love over a problem that can be fixed. At Strike Physiotherapy & Performance we help athletes and active adults in North Hollywood get rid of hip pain and stiffness for good, naturally.
Are You Being Held Back By Hip Pain?
You're dealing with a deep ache in your hip or groin that won't improve, no matter how much rest you take.
It hurts to lie on your side at night, and you wake up every time you roll onto that hip.
You're afraid to squat deep, run, or kick because a sharp pinch in the front of your hip stops you cold.
Simple things like putting on socks, getting out of the car, or climbing stairs have become uncomfortable or painful.
You've been told "it's just arthritis" or that "you'll need a hip replacement eventually", and you're not ready to accept that.
You're looking for a real, lasting solution to lead a more active life, not another temporary band aid.
If You Said Yes To Any Of These, You're Not Alone.
- Hip pain is one of the most common reasons active adults put their training on hold. It's easy to blame a tight hip flexor or "getting older" and assume it'll go away on its own, but months later you're still living with it, often worse than when it started.
- Maybe you've stretched it every day, had an injection, or been shown an MRI with a labral tear and told surgery is next. But deep down, you know none of the things you've tried so far have actually fixed it.
- The right treatment, one that actually finds the root cause, can change everything. And that treatment is available right here at Strike Physiotherapy & Performance.

A Message From A Licensed Physical Therapist
It’s very common to think hip pain is just a tight hip flexor or a sign of getting older, and that it’ll loosen up on its own. People blame it on sitting too much, a hard workout, or “bad hips” that run in the family. But then weeks turn into months, and nothing changes.
If that’s happening to you, you’re far from alone. Every person who walks through our door with hip pain wants to know the same thing:
"Why Is This Still Happening To Me After Months Of Putting Up With It?"
The truth is, most hip pain isn’t caused by a single event. It’s usually the result of load building up faster than your hip can handle it: weak glutes, long hours of sitting, a jump in mileage or training, and movement patterns that keep stressing the same tendons and joint. That one run or leg day when it started? That was just the final straw, not the actual cause.
And here’s what makes it worse: the most common advice, stretch it, rest it, get a cortisone shot, doesn’t address any of that. Some popular stretches can even make outside hip pain worse by squeezing the tendons that are already irritated. We explain why in Why Does My Hip Hurt?
That’s exactly why so many people end up living with hip pain for years, thinking it’s something they just have to accept. It’s not. And I’m here to prove it.
What You've Been Told Vs. The Truth
Before finding us, most of our patients were given well meaning but ineffective advice. Here’s what’s wrong with it, and what actually works.
✕ Bad Advice
Just Stretch Your Tight Hip Flexors
“Tight hips” get blamed for almost everything, so stretching becomes the default fix. But stretching rarely changes what’s driving the pain, and some common stretches squeeze already irritated tendons on the outside of the hip.
✓ The Reality
Strength Is What Fixes It
Feeling tight is often your body protecting a hip that isn’t strong enough for what you’re asking of it. Progressive glute, hip, and core strengthening, matched to your specific problem, is what eliminates hip pain for good.
✕ Bad Advice
It's Just Arthritis, Nothing You Can Do
An X-ray shows some wear, and you’re told to take it easy and wait until you need a hip replacement. That advice costs people years of active living.
✓ The Reality
Arthritis Isn't A Life Sentence
Clinical guidelines recommend exercise as a first-line treatment for hip arthritis. The right strength and mobility plan helps many people stay active and delay surgery, and if you do need a replacement, getting stronger first makes recovery easier.
✕ Bad Advice
A Cortisone Shot Will Fix It
An injection can quiet the pain for a while, but it does nothing about why your hip hurts, and the pain often returns once it wears off.
✓ The Reality
Injections Calm It. Loading Fixes It.
In a large trial on outer hip pain published in the BMJ, education plus exercise outperformed a cortisone injection at 8 weeks and at one year. We break down the research in Why Does My Hip Hurt?
✕ Bad Advice
Your MRI Shows A Labral Tear, So You Need Surgery
Seeing a tear on a scan is scary, and surgery is often presented as the obvious next step.
✓ The Reality
Scans Don't Tell The Whole Story
In one study, labral tears showed up in 69% of hips belonging to people with no hip pain at all. Many people with labral tears or hip impingement improve with a structured PT program. Surgery has a role for some, but it’s rarely the place to start.

You've Probably Also Tried…
Yoga & Stretching
Pigeon pose and hip openers felt like they should help, but certain positions made the pinch or ache worse, and you left feeling more discouraged than when you started.
YouTube Exercises
You tried hip mobility routines from "experts" online, but without knowing your specific issue, they either did nothing or aggravated the pain further.
Massage & chiro
You felt looser for a day or two after each session, but the relief never lasted, and the pain kept coming back the moment you trained again.
Generic Physical Therapy
You tried PT at a big clinic where you saw a different person each visit, got handed a sheet of clamshells and bridges, and never felt like anyone understood your actual problem.
Get Rid Of Hip Pain For Good
“Hip pain” covers several very different problems. An ache on the outside of your hip when you lie on it, a pinch in the front when you squat, a pull in the groin after sprinting, and stiffness from arthritis all need a different plan. We start by finding out which one you’re dealing with.
Your hip pain didn’t start the day you felt it. It built up over time from weak glutes, long hours at a desk, stiffness in your lower back or ankle, and training jumps your tendons weren’t ready for. We find those root causes and fix them.
Every session is one on one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. No aides, no rotating therapists, no cookie cutter protocols. We build a plan around your body, your pain, and your goals, whether that’s getting back to deep squats, running your next race, returning to the mat, or recovering after a hip replacement.
Our top performing patients are people who are motivated and ready to take back their active lifestyle, even if they feel stuck right now. You shouldn’t have to give up the things you love over a problem that can be solved.
With Us, You'll Get Back To:
- Running, squatting, and training at full intensity, without guarding your hip or fearing a flare up.
- Sleeping on either side through the night, without that hip ache waking you up.
- Putting on your shoes, climbing stairs, and getting in and out of the car without wincing.
- Keeping up with your kids, your sport, and your active lifestyle, and finally feeling like yourself again.
- Having strong, resilient hips, with the strength, mobility, and knowledge to make sure the pain never returns.
Real People. Real Results.

He put a lot of time with making sure I was doing the correct exercises so that I could fix my problems. If you’re really serious, Levan is the right guy to go to.Posted on Google![]()

I’m a 58-year-old woman with a total left hip replacement with back pain. Strike is the only place I felt like I have been gaining strength and getting back to my old self. You might say it’s expensive and it is. I’ve been to quite a few PTs and private gyms. This is a personalized curated experience.Posted on Google![]()

I came in with extreme lower back pain after a wrong stretch. Levan was able to give me a quick assessment over the phone based on how I was feeling and the pain I was in. I came in and he was just as detailed and attentive as over the phone. I took the first session with him for an evaluation and I was sold after. Great customer service and knowledgeable therapist. Last year I went back to the gym to get in shape. Everything was going well until I started to develop pain in my right shoulder. It got so bad I thought I was going to have to stop. Fortunately through researching Physio Therapists in my area, I came across Levan at Strike. He not only put together a program to work on my shoulder, he also partnered with my trainer at the gym. This enabled me to get my shoulder pain resolved, but allowed me to continue at the gym! Levan is a fantastic Physio Therapist! I highly recommend him.Posted on Google![]()

My partner and I workout 3X a week with Levan and I don't think words describe how happy we are to have found him!! The space is beautiful and Levan genuinely cares and really pays attention to your body and overall performance. We have a ton of injuries and he ensures each workout is tailored around them without activating the injury. Frequently Asked Questions
How long will it take to feel relief from my hip pain?
Many patients notice meaningful improvement within the first few sessions. Tendon problems and arthritis usually take longer, because tendons and joints adapt more slowly than muscle. We’ll give you a realistic timeline after your initial assessment so you know exactly what to expect.
My MRI shows a labral tear or hip impingement (FAI). Do I need surgery?
Not necessarily. Labral tears are common even in hips that don’t hurt, so a scan alone can’t tell you what’s causing your pain. Many people with FAI or a labral tear improve with a structured program that builds hip and core strength and adjusts the positions that provoke symptoms. If rehab isn’t getting you where you need to be, we’ll tell you honestly and help you find the right surgeon.
Do you help before and after a hip replacement?
Yes. Getting stronger before surgery can make recovery easier, and after surgery we follow your surgeon’s protocol to rebuild strength, balance, and confidence. We take you past walking normally and back to the activities you love.
I strained my hip flexor or groin. Will I have to stop training?
Almost never. Hip flexor and groin strains respond well to a progressive loading plan, and we’ll modify your running, lifting, or sport while we rebuild the injured muscle. Complete rest tends to leave it weaker and more likely to strain again.
Could my hip pain actually be coming from my back?
Sometimes. Pain in the buttock or back of the hip, especially if it travels down the leg or comes with tingling, often starts in the lower back. That’s why we assess your back, hips, and the rest of the chain at your first visit.
